Thaddeus Augustus Toote, the younger, was a man born before his time. Toote displayed an attitude and confidence that belied the unforgiving time, in which he lived.

Before the computer, the calculator, before the first automobile arrived in Nassau, before commercial airplanes, before the ballpoint pen, before civil rights, before the secret ballot, before the end of segregation, ‘this brother and he daddy’ were making it work.

In 1924, in addition to everything else, Thaddeus Augustus Toote, the younger, was legal advisor to the Tribune newspaper.
